Croissants

A lonely girl in France
Couldn't get a dance
Her mother said
“Ma cherie it won't be long”
They'll be queuing to get you in the buff,
If you bake them pastry puffed,
You'll always get a garçon with a croissant.

Salads are a sin
So chuck ‘em in the bin
If you bake you'll get a date
Buttered up in passion
Pastries on the rise
Taste better than meat pies
You'll always get a garçon with a croissant.

Even when they fail
To rise, and looking pale
Just when your ardour's
Back in fashion
Hot perennial cakes
Taste better on the make
You'll always get a groping garçon with a croissant
You'll always get a garçon with a croissant.

Don't be getting hasty
With that left over pastry
Unrecognisable tarts with chocolate batons,
Recipes with such affinities
Can bugger up one's virginity
You'll always get a garçon with a croissant.
